About The Program
This Airflite Flying College training program provides a nationally recognised pathway for holders of an Australian CASR Part 61 Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) to obtain an Instrument Rating with a Multi-Engine Aeroplane (MEA) instrument aircraft endorsement.
The course also includes training to achieve both 2D and 3D Instrument Approach Operation endorsements (IAP2D & IAP3D), which are required to conduct lateral-only and lateral-plus-vertical navigation instrument approaches, respectively.
Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the following qualification:
AVI50519 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating)
Instrument flying involves the use of cockpit systems and displays to conduct published approach procedures. 2D operations provide lateral navigation guidance, while 3D operations offer both lateral and vertical navigation cues—critical skills for safe operations in low visibility and controlled airspace environments.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is ideal for CPL holders looking to enhance their employability and progress into roles as Flight Instructors or charter pilots, with the ability to conduct operations under Night VFR (NVFR) or Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
-
This course follows a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Course of Study which includes levels of competency from the AVI Aviation Training Package developed by Australian Industry Standards (AIS).
