Airflite will be in contact to arrange the COMPASS Test and Interview.
-
COMPASS stands for Computerised Pilot Aptitude Screening System. It’s widely used around the world in the selection process for cadet pilot programs and flying college entry.
The test doesn’t check aviation knowledge — instead, it evaluates natural abilities and mental skills that are important for flying.
Typical areas the test measures:
o Hand–eye coordination – ability to manage controls while staying focused.
o Multitasking – handling several tasks or inputs at the same time.
o Spatial awareness – understanding aircraft movement and position in 3D space.
o Memory – short-term and working memory skills.
o Numerical reasoning – basic maths under time pressure.
o Verbal reasoning – understanding and processing information.
-
Absolutely. Details for the next Aviation Information Night are located here.

Career Outcomes & Employment
-
It depends on the course but for undergraduate programs, outback charter or corporate aviation sectors typically recruit entry-level pilots.
With experience and flight hours, graduates can go on to operate larger aircraft in the air transport sector.
Airlines typically require 1,500 hours of flying (some more, some less, depending on the airline) before considering an applicant for a First Officer role.
-
Several of Airflite’s best Instructors also happen to be Airflite graduates, however this is not a guaranteed career path.
Airflite encourages students and new pilots to be open to as many career paths as possible. The key objective for a recent pilot graduate is to get flying hours up as quickly as possible.
-
Airflite aligns to airline procedure where applicable, preparing students for the highly regimented and regulated world of aviation when they graduate.
